Because of low ratings on season 5, Bruno Heller and the company thought to make sure the show isn’t cancelled before wrapping up the Red John storyline, therefore they will end it themselves instead of the cancellation by the network (CBS) =].

We have word on The Mentalist season 6!
Bruno Heller, the creator of The Mentalist, revealed a major spoiler about the show, himself!

the spoiler given by Bruno Heller is that Patrick Jane will narrow the Red John suspect list down, from seven names, to only one name. Heller also said that Jane will apprehend him or kill him.

Season 6 is most likely going to be the final season, because Bruno Heller and the company will wrap up the show voluntarily instead of getting cancelled, to end the Red John storyline as they had intended to.
As for the on-and-off relationship with Rigsby and Van Pelt, and the issue of whether Jane and Lisbon end up together, you’re going to have to enjoy the final ride of The Mentalist to find out!
Season 6 starts in: the fall (September)!

It’s a beautiful ending! And we finally see the mother!

Red John’s Rules!
A terrific episode to end a yet incredible season of The Mentalist!
Red John’s identity WILL be revealed in season 6 (the final season).
But will it be the easy way or the hard way?
The easy way being, Patrick Jane catching Red John and the hard way being, Red John catching Patrick Jane!
The world’s best crime show will come to an amazing end on the season 6 finale! I can’t wait!
Season 6 will start sometime this year (2013). I will post details when I find out some.

J.J. LaRoche’s mystery box is no longer a mystery. We find out what’s in the container. With his last conversation with Jane in this episode, I knew it was something similar to what’s actually in the box… I just didn’t think it was, what’s actually in the box!
Red and Itchy - the perfect build-up for the season 5 finale, Red John’s Rules, on the 5th of May!
